If you ever come to Long Beach, and you look out over the bay from Bluff Park, you'll see these islands. They look nice. They're oil derricks.

Oslo Operahus Reflection
It's an astounding place. I got there early enough that it wasn't covered up with tourists yet, but I still had to work around some. And a pesky seagull.
New prints available
I had some new aluminum and new birch prints made. These have been added to the store page, and you can purchase them directly from me. Check'em out here:
I also have images available here:
This one is 8x10 on birch wood. Dig the way the wood grain shows through.
Invitation
I've been revisiting some photos from the recent past. Here's one from the last time I was prowling around the Pleasure Point area of Santa Cruz.
Farris Bad
A friend from the Larvik area pointed me toward a photograph of this place, and that photo looks like the photographer was standing only a meter or so away from this exact spot where I shot this when I was in Norway. This is a great spot and a killer place. I look forward to capturing it again.
SoCal Golden Hour
Chasing sunsets or other nature shots always leaves you at the mercy of nature as to what is going to happen. I saw some big clouds hanging around a couple hours before sunset the other night, so I went chasing. I was looking around in Seal Beach by the pier, but just couldn't find a composition I liked. So, I ended up on the pier. The clouds which had been hanging about kinda morphed into this huge thing in the sky, but I found myself in just the right spot for it. I sat there until after the sun went below the horizon, and I waited for a bit, but the sky never lit up. Bummer, but that is the way it goes. However, before the sun actually set I did get this shot with some nice color, a great reflection, and perfect leading lines. Hope you enjoy.
No Parking
I found a computer folder with some images off an old phone. I really like some of these shots, so I've edited them anew. This be one. I remember this well: I drove into this parking lot to hike down the trail to the beach and get some shots down there, and I parked my old truck directly in front of this scene, and the seagull did me the favor of staying still for me to photograph it. An hour later, when I returned to my truck, the seagull was STILL there.
That is Catalina in the background.
Gloomy Marina
It was a strangely overcast morning this day. But the sun would occasionally peer through the cloud cover and make for some oddly eerie light.
