Sthlm Arch
I haven’t been able to get out and shoot much lately, so I have been going back to the photos from my last trip to Stockholm and working on some of the ones I never took the time to work on in the past. This be one.
STHLM Igen
Technically, this is Solna. Peeking under the connection between Friends Arena and Quality Hotel Friends. You can see an entrance to the Mall of Scandinavia reflecting in one of the windows. That place is h-u-g-e.
New Prints
I just added these three new prints to the store page. All 3 are 8x10, matte finish, and printed on birch wood. They are offered here at approx 25% discount for a limited time. Please check'em out.
Ho Ho Ho
Yeah, I know it's May, but I shot this in DTLB early the morning of 25DEC. It was still the golden hour, but the light was funky that morning. And downtown was empty, so it was cool wandering around shooting. For me, anyway. I prefer to capture scenes devoid of people.
DTLB Cavern
Peering between a couple buildings in downtown Long Beach one day.
Soaring
I found this old capture of the PO building in DTLB. This place just keeps on giving. I have several excellent photos of this building, but I still think this one is the best. I caught the seagull at the exact right time to capture not only the bird flying through the frame, but I got its shadow on the building, AND its reflection in one of the windows. The clouds made for some nice interest and contrast, as well.
I happen to have a sweet metal print of this available for purchase directly from me, too.
Galaxy Alley
This is an older shot I just found. I'm standing in the alley behind The Galaxy Tower, closeby where I live here in Long Beach. I remember shooting this around golden hour, and I'm on the backside of the building, but the light was just right to capture the mood, catch a wee bit of shadow, and get a reflection. I've been doing quite a lot lately with deep, very saturated blue skies, and a load of contrast, but I really dig this one.
Galaxy Tower
Captured this shot a couple mornings back. There were massive fluffy clouds floating behind me, making the morning light funky. This is such a cool building, and, for better or worse, there are no other tall buildings around it, so it kinda stands alone where it's at. Which is fantastic for grabbing a photograph like this.
DTLB Lookup (again)
I live in Long Beach, and I don't fight the traffic up to DTLA often to get shots of some of the taller buildings up there, so I'm often exploring parts of DTLB, where there are some interesting scenes and objects to capture. I regularly get killer shots of this building. It just lends itself to capturing it in different lights at different angles.
