This is hidden behind one of the newer buildings in DTLB. The fountain wasn't working the other day when I encountered this, but it was pretty windy, so I had to expose long enough to get the smooth water. The stone turtle sculptures and the way the buildings were reflecting off the water made me stop.
This seagull maintained an absolutely static pose for me on the San Clemente pier.
Sometimes getting cool shots with clouds in the sky around is tough. A side effect of the fantastic weather in coastal SoCal is the normal clear sky. Yeah, it's rough. But...if you wanna get cool sky photos, it's nice to have some interesting clouds now and then. Well, this morning was one of those times. I was strolling back home from getting my morning shot of espresso, and I saw some crazy clouds hanging in the sky, and the way the sunlight was getting knocked around by those clouds was super interesting. So, as soon as I got home I grabbed my camera bag and headed for the beach close to where I live. I got there in time to get some pretty good captures. Hope you like them.
Rare occasion when photographic opportunities just kept happening in basically the same place. Gotta take advantage of these situations when they arise.

It was windy this afternoon at the pier in Seal Beach. I think it was about to rain.
It was super nice outside this day when I was in Norway about a year ago.
Captured this one a couple weeks back when I was wandering around the marina under some spooky overcast clouds. Naples in the background.
